Post chalet sentiments

Was having some mixed emotions after our class chalet when I came across our class blog once more. The last post was dated some time in May. Have been quite a while since someone in our 4/1 family come along to clear up the cobwebs that have stayed stagnant for nearly half a year. And I wonder if someone, or anyone at all, still reaches this page occasionally, sits listening to our song, looks through the pictures that yien has nicely put up scrolling, reminiscing about old times. It has definitely been a long while.

I guess many of us would be feeling the same way about the chalet this year. There is something that is missing, unlike the previous chalets that we've had. It pulled at my heart to think that what we had tried so hard to preserve since we gradudated 4 years ago has come to this state. It's inevitable, and many of us may agree. The same group of us are leading lives that are so different now. Some of us are part of that group that book out every Friday night, and checks in again on Sunday; others lead a busy social life, piling up their school's activities in their schedule such that we hardly see each other; some work 9 to 5, entering the workforce that we have never stopped to think about back in secondary school. It makes me think of the lyrics in the song, "Maybe things would be different; Perhaps I could have been better". It's ironical to think that a song written so many years back can be so accurate in predicting what will happen some years down the road.

But ultimately, I still believe that we're all down for the same reason. No matter how much our lives have changed, the past can never be altered, for what friendship has been formed, it cannot be broken. Maybe there are fewer words exchanged, maybe there is less youthful excitement, or perhaps things just don't feel the same after so long, but it just mean that we've all grown up one way or another.

When I look back at the chocolate making session, our class play on for racial harmony, our farewell to the teachers, our PE lessons back at CSS, our laughter and our tears, I still smile and hold the memories close. I guess there are some things that remain fixed in our thoughts no matter how much things around us are moving and changing so rapidly.

Sometimes we might forget, sometimes we might lose our way. But we'll find our way home in the end. "You'll never be alone."

QJ will be collecting 30 bucks from each for the upcoming chalet in dec! heee...

the past few days of the new year seems float themselves away... we are all affected by the tsunami disaster which hits on Boxing Day... however, let us all brace ourselves and pray for the victims... bearing in mind that everything which has happened is all predestined, we can only do our best in aiding the unfortunates...

on the lighter note, i really hope to see you guys soon... anymore outings?

abit more about myself and my availability... the disaster has caught SAF's attention and concern, hence many personnels have been sent over to the affected areas to render their help... my unit has not been left out... i'm currently on 24-hour standby as from last week to be more precise, operationally-ready to help out in all aspects of the aiding missions...

it's ben some time since the blog existed... noticed that not alot of people have been posting... i do hope more of us can find the time out of our busy schedule to post...

anyway... i have chnaged the template of the blog (hope becca doesn't mind) to suit the accessibilty of us busy people... just click on the ".:Post:." and we are all ready to blog! however, the system might require username and pasword which i have conveniently forgot due to the nature of how my brain works... belle will know... :)

oh hi peepz... this blog seems so out.. haha.. cos it appears as though we hardly used it at all.

anyway, sorry that i wasnt able to make it for the gathering at jp for dinner today. i had to go to work =( i'm sorry about it, i hope that all of us would be going for the alumni buffet dinner on the 18th which is for auntie tay and mrs ong, than we can use that to have another get together again =)

just to help promote for the choir people, the supposedly alumni choir, which they have named it Common Voices because they decided not to join the alumni as a choir, is having a concert on the 22 jan. haha.. although they've yet to promote and sell tickets, i just want all of you to take note then maybe we guys can go together =)

oh well... i hope you had fun today at the dinner... haizzz... miss you guys!! *hugz*

somehow got the feeling that this is going to another yahoo group-alike.. hah.. but in any case, blogging is definitely more flexible. I mean, you get to add some nice touches to the appearance of this thigie. Bee, not saying that the color change to the yahoo group is awful k? *ahem* shall not say more on that. O.. you guys should be darn surprised to see mi blogging here cos i had tried like 101 times to set up my own blog not very successfully. Quite crappy lah.. all thise different keys and code like stuff, only works to make my head aches. Anyway, those experts out there, help make the 4/1 blog as appealing to the eyes as possible yea?
